Our first Microsoft Office Specialist

On 17 February grade 9 pupil Shaun Nothard became our first pupil to obtain a Microsoft Office Specialist qualification, achieving an average of 95.4% for his Word 2010 exam during the certification. The certification covers basic, intermediate and advanced skills of the Microsoft Office 2010 applications. Grade 8 to grade 11 pupils work hard to obtain this certification. The Microsoft Office Specialist programme is run over a two year period and exams are written either individually or as a class group. Each student is required to complete the four Microsoft Office Specialist exams over a two year period. Each time a student passes an exam, a Specialist Certificate is issued to the student. Tutorials are available for students after school as well as a timed practice test. After completion of four exams, the student will achieve the Microsoft Office Specialist Core Certification. Expert-level exams are also run for Word 2010 and Excel 2010.
